Meet Chef Deathwish - The Fire Behind Rest After Service

Blog

This didn’t start in a boardroom. It started in a dish pit.

Not some glam origin story, just a greasy floor in a family-run chicken and rib joint. I was 14, soaked in fryer oil, surrounded by maniacs who could outdrink bikers and outcook Michelin grads.
No mentorship. No blueprint. Just service, sweat, and survival.

I learned fast. And I never left.

Over 25 years later, after banquets for 1,000, burns that still sting, and stories that still haunt, I got tired.
Tired of the hospitality industry dressing its lifers in beige polos and forgettable embroidery.
Tired of culinary apparel that didn’t say a damn thing about the war we go through behind the pass.

So I built a brand that does.

Rest After Service is for the ones who still show up, bruised, blistered, burned, but unbreakable.
The ones who survive on coffee, spite, and that one decent staff meal.
The ones who miss holidays, bury their stress in mise, and chase meaning through the chaos.

This is kitchen culture clothing for the black-hearted legends of the line.
Edgy. Durable. Unapologetic.
Chef streetwear that actually says something. Because you’ve earned more than a gimmick tee.

I’ve lived this life from dish pit to banquet hall.
And if you’ve ever felt like the kitchen was your church...
If you’ve ever heard the chit machine scream and thought this is where I belong...

Then you’re one of us.
